Ayurvedic treatment for Cancer

Recently I have had some patients asking some common questions about whether Ayurved can treat cancer. Here is a typical conversation in an attempt to address all the questions a cancer patient or his/her relatives may have 

1)  Pateint;- So do you treat cancer Doctor?

Doctor:-  Yes ,madam ,I do treat cancer.

2) Patient:- So how many patients do you treat every month ?

Doctor:- Oh ! Every month ! not more than 5.

3) Q:- That is so less?

A: - When a patient is diagnosed with cancer, He/She never think twice and rush to the nearest oncologist /Hospital and don’t even think of consulting an ayurvedic doctor as well.

4) Q:- Ok ,what kind of treatment is there in ayurveda for cancer ?

A: -Ayurvedic treatment consist of following  

1) Diet regimen  

2) Medicines 

3) Lifestyle changes.

5) Q :- Lifestyle change ? What do you mean by that ?

A :- It means avoid certain lifestyles and following new lifestyle ,this is basically to avoid certain carcinogens and encourages healing  .The basic example is to avoid polluted areas and avoid working night shifts .You have to change the lifestyle as per the type of cancer.

6) Q :- You said diet regimen, right? Is that so important?

A :- Oh yes  madam ,it matters most .Your diet can make or break you . You see, deficiencies can cause cancer ,this has been proven beyond proof .Vitamin A ,Vitamin D deficiency is very much linked to cancer. Protein deficiency can damage the DNA to turn  the cell into multiplying cancer zombie.

Q :- What kind of medicines are there in Ayurveda for Cancer?

A :- We try to work on various dimension ,I will try to explain in simple words,

        First we try improve general health and immunity of the person .Improved immunity increases           phagocytosis of cancer cells moving into the blood stream.

        Secondly we try to reduce the size of actual tumour. There are very good medicines having that 

        kind of catabolic actions.      

        Thirdly ,nowadays we get patients who have already started chemotherapy or radiotherapy ,so 

        we try to reduce the side effects of those therapies .

Q :- But I have heard that Ayurvdic medicines can only reduce the side effects of chemotherapy or radiotherapy ?

A :- NO, though nowadays it appears like that and it still is a big achievement on its own, I beg to differ, we can do a lot for actual cancer using Ayurvedic treatment.

Q :- So what do you suggest a person diagnosed with cancer should do? Go for surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or instead come directly to you ?

A :- He/she should consult me as well as an oncologist. Then he/she can take the decision. You see more information leads to better decision.

Q :- Now that is a diplomatic answer, are you saying that you will prefer your treatment along with established treatments?

A :- There is really no defined answer to that. It will depend upon the stage of the cancer and the changes occurring after my treatment. What matters most is the well being of the patient.

But I will always prefer that patient take ayurvedic treatment before trying established treatments.

Q :- OK What is the success rate of your treatment ?

A :- Same as any other pathy, stage 1 and stage 2 cancer has a good success rate whereas  with stage3  and stage 4 cancers, success rate is low.

Q :- So why should I go for ayurvedic treatment for my cancer ?

A :- Because it is very safe, ayurvedic medicines can improve the quality of life exceptionally well  let it be increasing the haemoglobin count or stopping that bleeding or stopping that diarrhea we can do a lot. And most importantly, because ayurvedic medicines can improve your lifespan. It has been proven now that ayurvedic treatment can do that for cancer patients.

Q :- OK last question, let me be very frank with you. I m suffering from cancer of the ovary which has spread to my omentum and bones. I have undergone major surgery to remove the growth and still undergoing chemotherapy. Doctor I m scared, frustrated, depressed and literally going through hell and nobody is giving me even hopes. Can you help?

A:- I will be equally frank with you, cancer scares everybody, even the doctor. When you see a 6 feet giant of a man surrendering to a few millimeters of tumour, you feel scared .But as I see improvements with each of the new patients, I see hopes. In recent 2 years I have been able to see very surprising improvements in the patients.

So yes I will help you and recommend you to give your best and try this.
